Founded in 2012 by Martin Bronstein and Ralph Howard, BHW Capital specializes in acquiring, developing, and managing a broad range of institutional quality asset types throughout market cycles while consistently achieving or outperforming proforma equity returns.
Since 2015, the BHW team has developed nearly 1,000 multifamily units across four award-winning communities and maintains a robust future development pipeline. BHW was named to the Longhorn 100 by Texas Exes in 2023 and ranked the 7th fastest growing University of Texas alumni owned business in the world.
BHW represents the evolution of a series of successful business ventures which date back to the late 1970s. Over the course of subsequent decades, Martin and Ralph worked together in a variety of different capacities notable not only for their financial successes, but also for the exceptionally diverse scope and attributes of the different operating companies, investment partnerships, completed transactions and fiduciary obligations which were carried out. The largest of these business ventures was The Situs Companies. Prior to the sale of the company in 2011 to Helios AMC, Situs employed 400+ commercial real estate professionals located in 7 states and 6 countries. By 2023, SitusAMC has grown to over 5,000 professionals with over 30 global offices serving both the commercial and residential real estate sectors as well as real estate finance technology.

Since the 1970s, BHW’s key principals have been investing, valuing, analyzing, financing, brokering, re-positioning, and developing a broad range of commercial real estate assets across the U.S. and Europe. Throughout multiple economic cycles, BHW principals have consistently maintained a history of achieving and/or out-performing proforma equity returns.
BHW’s founders started a global due diligence consultancy firm, Situs, in 1985, which grew into one of the world's leading commercial real estate consultancies with over 400 employees and 10 offices around the world. In 2011, Situs was sold to Helios AMC, a rated special servicer sponsored by Ranieri Partners.
A Fitch, Moody’s, and S&P rated Primary and Special Servicer, Situs provided due diligence, underwriting, loan servicing, and related services to commercial real estate institutions and investment banks. The lessons and experiences gained at Situs are the foundational components to developing BHW’s conservative, opportunistic investment thesis and rigorous data-driven underwriting approach for every investment opportunity.
BHW utilizes its hands-on asset management expertise to devise and execute investment, development, and value enhancement strategies, along with solving complex loan workout scenarios. Insights gained from analyzing thousands of diverse properties for Situs' clients and the experience derived from operating an international commercial real estate consulting firm have shaped the firm’s investment philosophy and resulted in a consistently strong investment performance.
The BHW team has deep, long-standing Texas roots, and a local network of key partners and resources in all target markets. Since the early 1970s and throughout multiple economic cycles, Texas has a been an investment focal point for the Sponsors. In 2023, BHW was inducted into the Longhorn 100 by The University of Texas at Austin as the 7th fastest growing alumni-owned business in the world. Key leadership is actively involved on the Advisory Council of the renowned Texas Real Estate Center at The University of Texas’ McCombs School of Business.
